Just when things are looking bad, a low-life attorney shows up insisting to help. Although he does not seem very trustworthy, he is the best chance that Hyun Soo currently has. The attorney Shin Joong Han advises him of what to do and not to do while being held captive. Very slowly, Hyun Soo starts to rightfully claim his every step of his current situation is unfavourable and unpromising to him, Hyun Soo inevitably gets locked up in a correctional facility. Feeling scared and stranded, he tries to comply with the new rules and environment, but the reality is too harsh for an ordinary college student to handle. Meanwhile, although he has his own issues to attend to, Joong Han looks for evidence that might just prove Hyun Soo’s last strand of hope for Hyun Soo was Joong Han until two other attorneys approached and offered Hyun Soo a questionably irresistible offer. Now that Joong Han is out of the picture, Hyun Soo works his way through the situation along with the new attorneys to prove his innocence. However, what seemed to be a good offer turns out to be the beginning of an even bigger Soo no longer has someone to rely on after claiming his innocence at the court. Eventually, Joong Han decides to step in to represent Hyun Soo when Soo Jin asks for his help. Meanwhile, Joong Han focuses on finding a potential murderer under the assumption that Hyun Soo is innocent. Hearings continue, but Hyun Soo slowly feels that his safety at the prison is in Han first visits Hyo Jung, Guk Hwa’s former roommate who has recently moved out not long before the incident, and demands answers to her questionable behaviour. This then leads Joong Han to people closely related to Guk Hwa one after another. Meanwhile, Hyun Soo goes through a crime scene re-enactment, but he collapses shortly Han notices that something is off about other possible suspects, Yoon Hyo Jung, Um Ki Jong, and Lee Chul Ho. He finds it odd that they were not interviewed by the police, so he questions them at the court. Meanwhile, Hyun Soo’s family suffers from having to be the family of a possible murder suspect, and in prison, Baek Ho and Doo Sik start to pick a fight on Hyun Soo. And Ji Tae advises Hyun Soo to make sure to see the end of Park shows up at court to provide a witness statement. While questioning him, Joong Han proves that the police had been investigating this case from the get-go with Hyun Soo pinned down as the murderer. However, the prosecutor does not back down and argues that the jury and judges should focus on only the facts and not Joong Han’s story. The drama is about unearthing the real killer and talking about social injustice Very strong emotionally. The wrong person was accused of killing. Great lead actors. Very fast paced too. Both dramas are about life inside a prison. There is no shortage of harsh and bloody scenes and unjustly accused characters. Something to check out if you like the prison arc from INSIDER. Both follow MLs who are put into prison. Whilst the ML from INSIDER is innocent. the ML in ONE ORDINARY DAY has been arrested for something he doesn't remember. Both MLs are trying to find out the truth and both of them get close to the top dogs of the prison and they look out for them throughout both dramas kind of... I don't know where "one ordinary day" is going as it's today, but it has good common points with the movie "The trial" - a young nice guy accused from murder - a quick and wrongful sentencing leading him to jail - a clumsy lawyer who fights for good and bad reasons, to innocent him I love both btw Both dramas are about a crime and the investigation of it and in some point the main characters start to be the prime suspects. Even tough in Beyond Evil there's more investigation and less scenes in prison, they have the same vibe and both of em show how a wrong investigation, curruption and injustice might affect a person for the rest of their life. I feel some kind of similarities in the atmosphere... The relationship in One Ordinary Day between the ML and the king of the prison made me think about The merciless but we'll have to see how the drama evolves haha They both are different in plot and atmosphere but i spot some similarities like -Both dramas tell about someone who is wrongly accused due to all the evidences that lead to him but he denies them. -Also in both dramas there is an only lawyer who's willing to help the defendant although the lawyer from each drama has very different perspectives, but still not making it easy on the defendant. Both are thrillers, with murder being the main point of the plot. The protagonists are both sensitive and naive, living a normal life until they get caught up in messy situations that both revolve around the same obstacle Memory loss although they are from different countries the plots are similar. both main leads are arrested for a crime they claim they didn`t commit. Both ML is suspected in a serious case. Lot of evidence that can prove that they're the killer but Who knows?! They have the same vibe because of the genre Crime Thriller. - same vibes - both are short kdramas that you can binge in a single sitting - though the plot is different, there's still hints of murder and blood in both dramas - extracurricular revolves more on not getting caught by the police, while one ordinary day revolves around finding out the truth. Falsely accused MCs, prison lots of prisons, defective judicial systems, police/prosecutors fabricating or neglecting evidence. And good actors. "Defendant" is a lot more melodramatic, I expect "One Ordinary Day" to try and keep it more together, for the sake of being more noir. Again, falsely accused MCs, prison life TW for rape in the movie, for OOD is still too soon to know what's in stall for the people implicated, deficient judicial system.
